Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Your privacy matters to us as much as your training numbers do. This Privacy Policy explains what information OneRepMaxLab (onerepmaxlab.com, referred to as “we,” “us,” or “the site”) gathers when you use our one rep max calculators and strength training guides, why we gather it, and the choices you have. It applies to every visitor, with specific information for visitors in the United States and the European region. This privacy policy explains what OneRepMaxLab collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Questions at any point? Reach us through our contact page or at support@onerepmaxlab.com.

Here is our privacy policy in five short points.

Privacy policy at a glance: calculator inputs stay in your browser, no accounts or payments, cookies keep the site free, no data sales, and your data rights
Our privacy policy at a glance: five key points in one view.

1. What Information We Collect

This part of our privacy policy shows what we collect and what we never touch.

1.1 Information You Choose to Share

The contact form is the only place where you hand us personal details. If you write to us, we receive your name, your email address, and the message you type, purely so we can respond.

1.2 Your One Rep Max Calculator Data

When you enter a lift weight, a rep count, or any other value into a 1RM calculator on this site, the math runs locally on your device. We do not transmit, log, or store those entries, and we cannot see your training numbers or estimated maxes.

1.3 Technical Data Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we receive basic technical signals when a page loads. These can include:

  • Your IP address and approximate country-level location
  • Browser type, operating system, and device category
  • The pages you view, how long you stay, and the page that referred you

We gather this through Google Analytics 4 and standard web server logs. We review it in aggregate to see trends, not to single out or profile individual visitors.

1.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not ask for or store payment card details, government IDs, health records, or any sensitive personal data. Using a strength calculator here does not require you to create a profile.

2. How We Use Your Information

Under this privacy policy, we use your information only for the purposes below.

2.1 Running and Improving the Site

Aggregated usage data shows us which calculators, formulas, and training guides readers find most useful. We use it to fix errors, speed up pages, and decide what to build or write next.

2.2 Replying to Your Messages

Your name and email are used to answer your enquiry and nothing else. We never add you to a mailing list without your clear consent.

2.3 Showing Advertising

Ads help cover hosting and development so the calculators stay free. Our advertising partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show ads that match your interests, based on your browsing across sites (interest-based advertising). We do not control which individual ads appear. See Section 4 for how to opt out.

2.4 Meeting Legal Obligations

We may keep or share information when a law, court order, or valid government request requires it. Outside of that, we do not voluntarily disclose your personal data to third parties.

2.5 Legal Bases for Processing (EU and UK Visitors)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the site; your consent for analytics and advertising cookies where the law requires it; and, when you contact us, our legitimate interest in answering you. You can withdraw consent at any time through your browser or cookie settings.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

3.1 What Is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file saved on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies let a site recognize your device, remember settings, and measure how pages are used.

3.2 Cookies We Use

  • Strictly necessary: Keeps core site functions working.
  • Analytics: Measures visits and page engagement in aggregate.
  • Advertising: Enables interest-based and personalized ads.

3.3 Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings:

Blocking some cookies may affect parts of the site. Turning off advertising cookies will not remove ads; it only makes them less relevant to you. This privacy policy lists each cookie category, so you can decide which ones you are comfortable with.

4. Third-Party Services on Our Site

This privacy policy names the third-party services we use on the site.

4.1 Google Analytics 4

GA4 helps us understand traffic patterns using anonymized data such as pages viewed, session length, device type, and country-level region. Data is retained for 14 months. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4.2 Google Search Console

We use Search Console to monitor how the site appears in search results. It is an internal tool and does not collect personal data from visitors.

4.3 Contact Form

Our contact form runs on a WordPress plugin. Submissions travel to our hosting server and are delivered to our inbox. We do not pass them to any other party, and we keep them only as long as needed to respond.

4.4 External Links

Our articles reference outside resources such as exercise databases, research bodies, and strength organizations. Once you click through, you leave our site, and their privacy practices apply instead of ours. We encourage you to read them. Third-party services follow their own rules, so please read their privacy policies as well as ours.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Your rights under this privacy policy depend on where you live.

5.1 Rights for Visitors in the European Region (GDPR and UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to erase your data
  • Ask us to restrict how we use it
  • Request a portable copy of your data
  • Object to processing, including for advertising
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it
  • Complain to your local data protection authority

5.2 Rights for Visitors in the United States

Several US states, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas, give residents privacy rights over their personal information. Depending on where you live, you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. You may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.

We do not sell personal information for money. Because advertising partners receive cookie-based data for ad targeting, some state laws treat that as “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” and you can opt out at aboutads.info/choices or through a browser setting such as Global Privacy Control, which we honor where required. We will never treat you differently for using these rights.

5.3 How to Make a Request

Send your request through our contact page or email support@onerepmaxlab.com, with enough detail for us to verify who you are. We reply within 30 days. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and you may also contact your state attorney general or local data protection authority. To make a request under this privacy policy, use the contact details in Section 10.

6. Children's Privacy

OneRepMaxLab is intended for adults and is not aimed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will remove it promptly. Our privacy policy is written for adults, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. How We Protect Your Information

The site is served over HTTPS, and our WordPress setup is kept updated, with limited administrator access and ongoing security monitoring. No online system is completely risk-free, so we cannot promise absolute security. If you suspect your information has been compromised through this site, please contact us right away. These protections apply to everything described in this privacy policy.

8. International Data Transfers

Our website is hosted on servers in the United States. If you visit from the EU or UK, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and, where available, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework used by providers like Google to help protect those transfers. This privacy policy applies to transferred data in the same way.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this policy when our practices, tools, or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top will always show the latest revision. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy, so please check back from time to time. We will post any update to this privacy policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date.
